Lost Art Salon: A Resource for Modernist, Vintage & Antique Art & Objects (1900-1960s)

Our fine art collection is comprised of works by rediscovered and historically significant artists. It reflects the major styles and movements of the early and mid 20th Century (1900-1960s). Our library of over 4,000 modernist, vintage and antique pieces categorized by subject and artist is constantly expanding. Every piece is researched, reconditioned and catalogued for art historical records. We use restored period frames combined with archival framing techniques. New shows debut every three months, showcasing the compelling stories behind important Modern Era collections.

Gaétan Caron

A Québec native, Gaétan Caron immigrated to Northern California in 1999.  Very quickly he realized he would never get enough of the inspiration San Francisco and its surrounding counties could provide.  The richness in the shape and texture of the burgundy red Manzanita tree and its cousin, the melon orange Madrone that he encountered in Mendocino county inspired Gaétan to the point of abandoning clay, his focus at the time, and making the sinuous wood one of his primary mediums.  Gaétan's collecting skills enable him to incorporate found objects into his designs including artwork from the Lost Art Salon Collection.

Prior to California, Gaétan obtained a partial degree in Ceramics at École de Céramique Bonsecours in Montréal.
